What is the ruling on placing pictures of sons and daughters in the workplace, and hanging pictures of deceased persons in the home?

The ruling on photography, its types, displaying it, and keeping it has been previously explained. Photography with a camera and video is a matter of difference among scholars, with some prohibiting it and others permitting it. The preponderant opinion is permissibility, unless something is presented therein that renders it forbidden, such as the picture being of a woman who is immodestly dressed, or if the purpose is glorification. If there is nothing therein that prevents it, then the most apparent ruling is permissibility. Therefore, there is no harm in displaying the aforementioned pictures if there is nothing in them that is forbidden to look at, or if the display is not for the purpose of glorification, even though it is better to avoid pictures and not display or hang them.
