The matter is easy and clear. A woman knows she is pure when there is dryness, which is by inserting a piece of cotton and it comes out clean, with no trace of blood, yellowish discharge, or brownish discharge on it. The usual white discharges are not taken into consideration. Yellowish and brownish discharges connected to blood are considered menstruation. What comes after the cessation of blood, outside of the usual period, is not menstruation. So, what is seen in the first five days is menstruation, and the yellowish discharge on the sixth day is menstruation as long as it is connected to blood. Purity is determined from the moment dryness is observed, and any yellowish discharge that appears after that is not considered menstruation unless it occurs during the customary period.
