How did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, justify his preference for Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, to his wives?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was keen on[^1] justice among his wives and among people. He is the one who said, "Who will be just if I am not?" He loved Aisha more than others, and heartfelt love does not contradict justice, because it is something a person does not control. The obligatory justice is in apparent matters like lodging and spending. The Prophet used to divide his time among his wives with justice, saying, "O Allah, this is my division in what I possess, so do not blame me for what You possess and I do not possess." He used to draw lots among them when traveling. The Prophet's wives appealed for justice regarding the daughter of Abu Quhafah (Aisha) because the Companions used to bring gifts to the Prophet when he was in Aisha's house, knowing his love for her.
