Is it permissible to pay all or part of the Zakat on wealth in advance to be spent on the recipients of Zakat through a charitable fund?

It is permissible to advance Zakat before the completion of the hawl (one year), provided the wealth has reached the nisab (minimum threshold). This is supported by the action of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who accepted the advanced Zakat from his uncle Al-Abbas. This is the view held by the majority of scholars. It is not valid to designate Zakat as an ongoing charity (sadaqa jariya); rather, it must be given as ownership to the deserving recipients among the eight categories, with the intention of Zakat.
