Does divorce take place if the husband says to his wife: "You are divorced" in exchange for her giving him something that belongs to him?

A woman is not permitted to seek a divorce without a valid Shar’i (Islamic legal) excuse, due to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Any woman who asks her husband for a divorce without any compelling reason, the scent of Paradise will be forbidden to her." And the husband's saying "You are divorced" is an explicit and effective divorce, even if he did not intend to enact it. An explicit divorce does not require an intention. The husband may reconcile with his wife before the 'iddah (waiting period) ends, provided this divorce does not complete the three (talaqs).
