Is beneficial scientific knowledge, which helps people recover from illnesses, considered an ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah)? And will a mother be rewarded for her children spreading her medical advice that has proven beneficial?

Continuous charity (ṣadaqah jāriyah) is based on money whose principal is withheld for good deeds, so that its benefit may continue. This is known as waqf (endowment), and examples include building mosques and digging wells. Medical advice for the deceased does not fall under the category of continuous charity, but it is hoped that it will be among the knowledge from which benefit is derived. This includes all knowledge that benefits people, whether it is religious or worldly.
