The answer

Fear of Allah is of two types: a praiseworthy fear that motivates piety, obedience, and abstinence from prohibitions, and a blameworthy fear resulting from despair in His mercy, which is a satanic whisper. One must balance between fear and hope, for hope encourages obedience and deters disobedience, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Let none of you die except while he has a good opinion of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious." Fear of death does not indicate an unwillingness to meet Allah; rather, it can be a motivation to increase acts of obedience and prepare for the Hereafter.
