Divorce during menstruation is valid and prohibited. The waiting period ('iddah (definition)) for a divorced woman who menstruates is three menstrual cycles, by consensus, and the cycle in which she was divorced does not count. It is not permissible to propose, explicitly or implicitly, to a revocably divorced woman until her 'iddah ends. Once the divorced woman performs ghusl (definition) after her third menstrual cycle, proposing to her becomes permissible. The woman must remain in her husband's home during the 'iddah.
