Is it permissible to disburse Zakat in the form of monthly salaries to impoverished families, by depositing it with an entity responsible for its distribution?

The default is that zakat (definition) must be paid immediately upon its due, and it is not permissible to delay it except in exempted cases; among them is delaying it to give it to someone whose need is greater. If the delay is to give it to the most deserving people, such as a relative or someone in severe need, and the amount is small, then there is no harm. But if the amount is large, it is not permissible to disburse it until it is given to them in installments each month. Scholars have differed on this issue. The summary of the matter is that if disbursing zakat in the form of monthly stipends to the poor serves their interest, then there is no objection, especially if the zakat payer sets it aside from his wealth.
