Is the ruling on a mobile game where the winner earns virtual money and the loser loses the same, and the player increases his virtual money by paying a portion of it to speed up its acquisition, considered gambling? And is it permissible to pay real money in it?

The loss of virtual money by a losing player in a poker game is not actual gambling, but a simulation of it. This game should be avoided because it involves an act that images what Allah has forbidden, and it contradicts the glorification of His prohibitions. The fatwa (definition) of the Jordanian Dar Al-Ifta stated that the game is not free from two prohibitions: either it is actual gambling, which is definitively forbidden, or it is training for gambling and imitation of people of immorality and transgression, which is also forbidden.
