Repentance

• Has the door of repentance been closed in our time, based on the interpretation of the sun rising from its west as resembling the West, and abandoning the Qur’an and Sunnah?
• Is the door of repentance still open for a sinful servant who occasionally commits acts of apostasy and suffers from whispers that prevent him from performing good deeds? And is repentance from these matters permissible?
• Has Allah closed the door of repentance in my face because of my persistence for over forty years in the sin of lusting after beautiful images, and because of an extraordinary torment that has afflicted me, making me feel as if I have disbelieved with certainty, and that the verse from Al-Ma'idah applies to me: "And whoever disbelieves among you after that—then indeed, I will punish him with a torment such as I will not punish anyone among the worlds"?
• Has the door of repentance been closed in the face of a young man who insists on sinning, then is afflicted with a serious illness, finds it difficult to repent and feel remorse, and fears that he will die while Allah is angry with him?
• How can we reconcile the noble Prophetic saying that the door of repentance remains open and will not close until the sun rises from the west, with the noble verses that show that Allah closed the door of repentance in the face of Iblis, Abu Lahab, and some hypocrites? And is it possible that Allah could close the door of repentance in the face of someone in our current era?
