The answer

Several hadiths have been narrated concerning "the worst of my Ummah" who indulge in food, drink, and clothing, and speak boastfully. Although all chains of transmission for these hadiths are not free from weakness, some scholars have deemed them (good) due to corroborating evidence. Al-Manawi mentioned that this is one of the Prophet's miracles, as it is a prophecy about an unseen event that occurred. He added that gluttony is considered one of the root blameworthy characteristics that lead to the lust for wealth and status, and subsequently to arrogance, self-admiration, envy, and tyranny, thus making those who embody these traits among the worst of the Ummah.
