Is it obligatory for someone afflicted by the evil eye to take ritual ablution water from those who admired his deeds or recognized his abilities, or is that not necessary due to not knowing precisely who afflicted him?

It is prescribed for the afflicted person (al-Ma'oon) to perform ghusl (definition) with the water used by the envier (al-Ain) if it is certain or highly probable who caused the evil eye. This is done by taking the water of the envier's ablution (wudu') and pouring it over the afflicted person. This has been established by the action of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when he commanded Amir ibn Rabiah to perform ghusl for Sahl ibn Hunaif. If the envier is known, he is compelled to perform wudu', based on the Prophet's command, as it is a remedy (nushrah) that benefits. The evil eye can occur with admiration, even without envy. However, if there is doubt about being afflicted by the evil eye, or doubt about the envier, one should not pursue such doubts. It is sufficient to rely on the lawful ruqyah (definition) (incantations) from the Quran and Sunnah (definition), along with placing trust in Allah, having a good opinion of Him, and supplicating.
