ما حكم الوضوء من الماء المسمى بماء غريب ماء اللقاح؟
The majority of scholars hold that it is impermissible to purify oneself with water extracted from al-ghareeb (a type of tree) and al-liqah (water extracted from date palms), because these do not fall under the description of absolute water (al-ma' al-mutlaq). There is a narrated consensus on the impermissibility of purifying oneself with extracted water. However, some scholars, such as Ibn Abi Layla, Al-Asamm, Abu Hanifa, and Ibn Taymiyyah, differed. Some of them permitted its use for hadath (minor ritual impurity) and najis (impurities), while others only allowed it for removing najis. The majority of scholars believe their view is more sound because there is no narration from the Salaf (early Muslims) that they used extracted water for purification. Furthermore, the Quran specifically restricted purification to water in its absence by the verse: "And you find no water, then perform tayammum." The Companions sometimes lacked water and had other liquids with them, yet none of them were narrated to have performed wudu' with anything other than water.
