The (waiting period) for a pregnant woman whose husband has died ends when she gives birth. As for a non-pregnant woman, her iddah is four months and ten days according to the lunar months. If the death occurs during a month, the month of death is completed to thirty days. So, if the husband dies on the fourteenth of Muharram, and the death occurs after Fajr (dawn prayer), then the iddah ends on the thirteenth or fourteenth of Jumada al-Thani, depending on the number of days in the month of Muharram. The iddah begins from the moment of death, according to the majority of scholars.
