Is it permissible to delay fulfilling a vow to slaughter a sheep made during pregnancy until after childbirth, knowing that the questioner wishes to slaughter the sacrificial animal in her home country because its people are poorer?

Whoever suspends a vow of obedience upon the occurrence of an event, must fulfill their vow when the suspended event occurs, based on the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him."

Accordingly, if a woman vowed to slaughter a sheep for her pregnancy, she must slaughter it as soon as she is certain of that. If she intended to feed the meat to the people of her town, she should delay the slaughter until she is able to deliver it to them. If her intention was general, she may dispose of it as she wishes. If she wishes to specifically allocate it to the people of her town, she should send the price of the sheep to someone who can act on her behalf in slaughtering and distributing it, because fulfilling a vow is obligatory immediately unless there is an excuse.
