What is the ruling on magic (sihr) and imagination (khayal) in Islam?

Magic is entirely evil because it is a means of seeking assistance from jinn and devils, which leads to falling into sins and disbelief in order to appease Satan. It also aims to sow evil and harm among people. Even if some good deeds are performed by magicians, that does not justify their actions, because their path is forbidden and leads to disbelief. The ruling follows the majority of the magician's actions, and Satan commands nothing but evil and corruption.
