What should a woman do who was secretly married without a dowry being paid, and then divorced? And does she have to observe an 'iddah?

If the marriage contract is concluded with offer and acceptance between the wife's guardian or his agent, and the husband or his agent, in the presence of two witnesses, then the contract is valid. If the husband consummates the marriage with her or has a valid seclusion with her, she is entitled to the full stipulated dowry and must observe the waiting period ('iddah). If the dowry was not stipulated, then she is entitled to a dowry of similar value (mahr al-mithl). If the divorce occurs before consummation or valid seclusion, it is an irrevocable divorce (talaq ba'in) with no waiting period, and she is entitled to half of the stipulated dowry, or a compensatory gift (mut'ah) if the dowry was not stipulated.
