The answer

Swearing by other than Allah is a great evil from which one must repent, and it is not permissible, even if it is in jest. This is based on the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever swears by other than Allah has disbelieved or committed shirk (polytheism)." The Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade swearing by one's forefathers and said: "Whoever has to swear, let him swear by Allah or keep silent." And whoever swore by Al-Lat and Al-Uzza, let him say: "There is no god but Allah."
