The narration regarding the prayer of Banu Qurayza came from the account of Abdullah ibn Umar, not Ibn Mas'ud. The narrations differed concerning the mentioned prayer; Muslim mentioned Dhuhr (noon prayer) and Bukhari mentioned Asr (afternoon prayer). Scholars reconciled between the two narrations by suggesting the possibility that some Companions prayed Dhuhr before the command, or that the command was directed to different groups at different times. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar preferred the view that the linguistic difference resulted from the memorization of some narrators, or that Bukhari narrated the hadith by its meaning, unlike Muslim.
