What is the ruling concerning the prayers performed by one who was ignorant of the rulings of purification and found drops of semen without performing the ghusl of janabah, sufficing himself with wudu?

The ruling on masturbation is that it is forbidden. If semen is withheld and drops are released, then ghusl (ritual bath) is obligatory by scholarly consensus, and prayer without it is invalid. Repentance is obligatory, and the missed prayers must be made up according to the majority of scholars, with an effort to ascertain their number. Sheikh al-Islam holds that making up prayers is not binding for the ignorant, but the opinion of the majority is more cautious.
