Among these scholars is Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti, who mentioned in his book "Al-Itqan fi 'Ulum al-Quran" that the number of its surahs is 114, and the number of its verses is six thousand, varying according to the Medinan and Kufan counts, and the number of its letters is 323,000. The halfway point of the Quran, in terms of the number of letters, is at the word "nukran" (نُكْرًا) in verse 74 of Surah (definition) Al-Kahf.
