What is the way to deal with a father whose actions cause his children to hate him, wish for his death, and even sometimes desire to kill him, knowing that these feelings are forbidden?

Wishing for a parent's death or killing them is among the gravest forms of disobedience (ʿUqūq) and major sins (Kabāʾir adh-Dhunūb) that warrant retribution (Qiṣāṣ) in this world, deprivation of inheritance, and severe punishment in the Hereafter. Children are obligated to honor their parents (birr al-wālidayn), treat them kindly, obey them in what is permissible, and associate with them in a good manner, even if the parents are unjust, as Allah the Almighty says: "And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment" and "And accompany them in [this] world with good companionship." One should also be patient with parents and remember that their satisfaction is Allah's satisfaction, and that failing to attain Paradise due to them in their old age incurs a severe warning. It is also possible to seek help from righteous individuals to mend the relationship with the father.
