Is it permissible for the Imam to lead the funeral prayer twice for the same deceased, and what should be done if it is not permissible?

It is not from the Sunnah (definition) to repeat the funeral prayer for those who have already prayed it initially. This is the view of the majority of scholars from the four madhhabs, as the prayer over the deceased is performed only once. Some scholars permit repeating the prayer if the guardian was absent and others performed the prayer. As for what has passed regarding the repetition of the prayer, there is no harm in it, because no specific prohibition has been reported concerning it. Rather, the matter is derived from the urgency of preparing the deceased.
