The answer

Our condolences to the questioner on the death of his daughter. We remind him of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, to Allah belongs what He has taken, and to Him belongs what He has given, and everything with Him has an appointed term. So, be patient and seek reward from Allah." And we remind him of the hadith about the building of the House of Praise in Paradise for whoever praises Allah and says "Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn" (To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return) upon the loss of his child. We urge patience and seeking reward from Allah, with certainty that what Allah has decreed is good, and that death is a truth. There is no blame upon them for what they did, as they believed it was in her best interest and did all that was within their power. We emphasize the necessity of guarding against negligence and harmful pity, of refraining from self-reproach, and of striving for righteous deeds and having many righteous offspring.
