Is drawing near to relatives, despite their hatred, considered hypocrisy?

A Muslim dislikes his Muslim brother only for a religious reason. Connecting with and showing kindness to one whom you dislike is Islamically required. Showing kindness to one whom you dislike is not considered hypocrisy, provided you do not praise him for qualities he does not possess. Speaking kindly, being humble, and doing good deeds are noble manners when dealing with someone you dislike. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, tolerated a man despite being annoyed by him. Toleration (al-mudaraah) means expending worldly effort for the sake of its well-being, or for the well-being of religion, or both. As for compromise (al-mudahanah), it means abandoning religion for the sake of worldly gain. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, treated the man well and spoke to him gently without praising him.
