Marriage to a maternal uncle's daughter is forbidden if she is a foster sister. This occurs if the suckling nursed from his grandmother five times or more within the two years, according to the majority of scholars. However, the Malikis and Hanafis consider even a single suckling, even if it is just a drop, to be sufficient. The general rule is: "What is forbidden by lineage is forbidden by fosterage." Therefore, marriage to a foster mother and her mahrams (her mothers, maternal aunts, paternal aunts, daughters, daughters of her daughters, and daughters of her sons) is perpetually forbidden.
