Is praying 100 rak'ahs on Laylat al-Qadr considered a departure from the Sunnah?

It is best for a Muslim to follow what the Messenger and his Companions and the Successors were upon in excellence, for good lies in following and evil in innovation. Performing one hundred rak'ahs on Laylat al-Qadr every year is an innovation (bid'ah), as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever performs a deed that is not in accordance with our matter will have it rejected." What is good for a Muslim to do on Laylat al-Qadr is to revive it with prayer, remembrance (dhikr), supplication (du'a), and recitation of the Quran, without specifying a certain number, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever stands (in prayer) on Laylat al-Qadr with faith and hope for reward, his past sins will be forgiven."
