Is it permissible to buy from or work in a store where one is forced to sell forbidden products such as cigarettes and magazines containing impermissible images and advertisements? Is the income generated from that permissible (halal) or forbidden (haram)? And what can be done to make it permissible?

Selling forbidden things like cigarettes and magazines that promote vice is not permissible, because when Allah forbids something, He also forbids its price. It is not permissible to work for such magazines because it constitutes cooperation in sin, and the income derived from it is unlawful. A Muslim must fear Allah in what he eats, drinks, and spends. Selling gasoline is permissible, and as for taxes, if they are compulsory, then the one who is coerced is excused.
