Is the phrase "Ya Deen Ommy" (O, my mother's religion) permissible or forbidden?

The phrase "Ya deen Allah" (O religion of God) often carries no real meaning, as it is not intended as a genuine supplication or call. Rather, it has become customary in some countries to utter it in moments of anger, disapproval, or astonishment. Its legal ruling (hukm shari) varies depending on the context. If it is uttered with the intention of mocking the religion, then it is disbelief (kufr). Sheikh Al-Jibreen issued a fatwa stating that it might be permissible if the intention is to rouse the enthusiasm of religious people, not to invoke the religion itself. However, it is preferable to avoid such phrases as a preventative measure (sadd al-dhari'ah).
