Is there any religious impediment to persisting in supplication for the fulfillment of something that seems impossible, while having certainty in the power of Allah the Almighty?

What is known as a love relationship between young men and women is not sanctioned by Islamic law (Shari'ah); it is a gateway to temptation (fitnah) and corruption. However, if a man loves a woman without seeking it, the prescribed course of action is to propose to her guardian (wali). If he is rejected, he should turn away from her. As for excessive attachment to her, even to the point of passionate love ('ishq), it is a danger that corrupts hearts. If the girl is already engaged and has accepted her suitor, strive to divert your heart from her and hasten to marry someone else. Be keen on supplicating (du'a) that Allah grants you a righteous wife, while avoiding supplication to marry this particular woman after her engagement, as there is a type of transgression in such a supplication.
