Is shunning wicked relatives who try to lure family members into evil considered a severance of kinship ties? Is it obligatory to distance oneself from associating with them, or is it a severance of kinship ties? Is it necessary to distance oneself from associating with them for fear of harming the family's morals?

Calling to Allah is one of Allah’s greatest blessings and the most beloved deeds to Him. A believer strives to guide people, especially those closest to them, with gentleness and kindness. If the call is not effective and there is a fear of misguidance, then it becomes obligatory to distance oneself from them. This is not considered severing ties of kinship, but rather an act of drawing closer to Allah, because love and hate for Allah’s sake are the foundation of faith. Abandoning those who persist in major sins is an act of obedience and a duty if one fears for their religion and self from their misguidance. For perhaps a beautiful separation is better than a harmful association.
