How many days must a woman make up if she fasted Ramadan until the 15th, then on the night of the 16th a small amount of blood appeared, so she did not fast on the 16th, thinking that blood was coming out but it did not, then she fasted from the 17th to the 26th, then on the night of the 27th a small amount of blood appeared, so she did not fast on the 27th, thinking that blood was coming out but it did not, then she fasted on the 28th and 29th, according to the Shafi'i school of thought?

According to the Shafi'is, if the total amount of blood seen by a woman reaches a day and a night (24 hours), then it is considered menstruation (hayd). Regarding the period of purity (tuhr) that occurs between two bleeding episodes during one menstrual cycle, there are two views:

1. Al-Sahb (Dragging): The entire period between the two bleeding episodes is considered menstruation. In this case, she must make up twelve days [of missed prayers/fasts].

2. Al-Talfiq (Compiling/Combining) – which is the more preponderant view: Only the days on which she actually saw blood are considered menstruation. In this case, she must make up the two days she broke her fast.

However, if the total amount of blood is less than a day and a night, it is not considered menstruation, and she must make up the two days she broke her fast.
