It is not permissible to acquire copied software and e-books without the permission of their owners. However, if there is a need due to the unavailability of the original version or the inability to purchase it, then it is permissible to copy them for personal use only, provided that they are not used as a means of earning income, and that the copying is limited to the extent of the need. Based on this, it is not permissible to upload these books and programs to websites, as that constitutes aiding in sin and aggression. Allah Almighty says: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression."
