Is the bewitched person affected when seeing the one who bewitched him?

The treatment for magic (sihr) is twofold: First: Finding the magic knots and amulets, untying or burning them, while simultaneously seeking protection (through remembrance of Allah). This will dispel the magic. Second: Treating magic with legal Ruqyah (Islamic incantations) and permissible remedies. This includes regularly reciting the legal Ruqyah and Surat Al-Baqarah, reciting over water for drinking and bathing, frequently remembering Allah and seeking refuge in Him, removing pictures of animate beings from the home, sleeping in a state of ablution (wudu), maintaining the remembrances before sleep, and reciting Ayat Al-Kursiyy and the last two verses of Surat Al-Baqarah, and frequently supplicating to Allah. It is permissible to go to a raqi (one who performs Ruqyah) who has sound belief and a correct methodology.

It has not been established in the Sunnah that a person afflicted by magic is affected by seeing the one who cast the magic. However, some reciters of Ruqyah mention the appearance of symptoms in the enchanted person if they see the magician. This is not considered evidence to accuse someone of magic unless there is valid legal proof, such as the perpetrator's confession or the testimony of two just witnesses.
