The majority of reciters read it with the letter "sad" (ص) to match the "taa'" (ط) in its emphatic pronunciation (itbaq). Ibn Khalawayh mentioned that the reading with the "seen" (س) came according to the origin of the word, while the reading with the "sad" (ص) was due to the substitution of the "seen" (س) to align with the "seen" (س) in its whisper and sibilance, and the "taa'" (ط) in its emphatic pronunciation.
