Is he who had intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan to fast the day he first broke his fast, then fast the two consecutive months as expiation, or is there no difference?

Scholars have differed regarding the obligation of making up (qada') along with expiation (kaffarah) for one who has intercourse during daylight hours in Ramadan. Some have deemed it obligatory, which is the more correct view, while others have waived it. Still others have made it obligatory only if one expiates by fasting. Those who mandated making up did not see it as obligatory to prioritize making up over expiation, or vice versa, although it was mentioned that making up should preferably be done first.
