The answer

The Imam should advise and guide the man with wisdom and good counsel regarding the seriousness of seeking help from other than Allah, based on the Almighty's saying: "And speak to people good [words]." He should not prevent him from praying behind him, out of fear of discord. Indeed, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, knew the hypocrites but did not prevent them from praying; rather, he said: "Leave him, lest people say that Muhammad kills his companions." There is good in his prayer, and Allah may guide him.
