How did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, treat his Companions?

The Prophet’s, peace and blessings be upon him, treatment of his companions was based on mercy, kindness, forgiveness, seeking forgiveness for them, and consulting them in matters. He was gentle with them, patient in teaching them, often smiling in their faces, and would only become angry when Allah’s sacred limits were violated. He would seek forgiveness for those who harmed him and involved his companions in making important decisions.
