How is zakat paid on hoarded gold that has not yet been in one's possession for a full year?

Zakat (definition) is obligatory on saved gold if it reaches the نصاب (nisab (definition)) (85 grams) and one lunar year has passed over it. The year begins from the date of acquiring the money with which the gold was purchased, because purchasing it does not interrupt the year of its price. This is because banknotes, gold, and silver are treated as a single category. The amount that must be given is a quarter of a tenth (2.5%).
