The answer

Islam is the religion that God has chosen for His servants. Its meaning is submission to God through monotheism, obeying Him, and being free from polytheism. It is the religion of all prophets. God named the followers of Muhammad, peace be upon him, Muslims. Defining it by its five pillars is also correct, as stated in the Hadith of Gabriel, and this does not contradict the fact that these five are the foundations of Islam. All definitions of Islam are correct, and there is no contradiction between them.
