Is it a condition to have the intention of seeking reward for the occurrence of recompense in habits and permissible acts, or does the recompense occur in them without the condition of having such an intention?

Customs and permissible acts are rewarded if intended to abstain from the forbidden or to strengthen one's ability to perform acts of obedience, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, actions are by intentions." Thus, reward is linked to intention, and the attribution of reward to expenditure without mentioning intention is understood to be conditioned by intention. Obligations that do not require an intention, such as spending on one's family, are not rewarded except with intention, and similarly, refraining from prohibitions. As for transitive benefits, some scholars believe that their doer is rewarded for them even if they did not intend to draw closer to Allah through them.
