A wife must obey her husband and remain in her independent home during or before or after childbirth, unless she is harmed; otherwise, she is disobedient (nashiz). If she needs someone to serve her, the husband must provide that. The spouses are advised to reach an understanding and give up stubbornness to achieve the family's welfare and stability, bearing in mind that the wife's welfare may lie in her family's home during the husband's absence, especially during childbirth, to facilitate her care and the upbringing of her children.
