The answer

1. It is not permissible to tailor clothes for a woman who is known to wear them for unlawful display (tabarruj). Any earnings acquired after realizing the impermissibility must be disposed of by spending them on charitable causes.

2. As for earnings acquired from tailoring clothes for display before realizing their impermissibility, some scholars opine that one is not required to dispose of them due to the excuse of ignorance.

3. Regarding clothes left with the tailor, please refer to Fatwa No. 95443.

4. The permissibility of tailoring is linked to the permissibility of wearing; what is permissible to wear is permissible to tailor, and what is forbidden to wear is forbidden to tailor. There is no predetermined legal limit for tailoring fees.
