Was Ibn Hazm among the Sunnis?

Ibn Hazm was an Andalusian scholar of immense knowledge, intelligent, and a great venerator of the Sunnah. However, he fell into doctrinal and jurisprudential deviations. He adopted the Zahiri school of thought, which rejects Qiyas (analogical reasoning), and was influenced by philosophy and logic. This impacted his stance on the attributes of Allah, leading him to contradict the doctrine of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah in this regard. Despite his extensive knowledge of Hadith and his beneficial writings, his sharp critical style towards the Imams provoked the resentment of scholars against him. Scholars have agreed that he cannot be described as entirely from Ahlus-Sunnah concerning the attributes, but he does not completely depart from the Sunnah due to his veneration of it and his eagerness to follow it.
