The answer

Exchanging gifts among people is Islamically recommended and a cause for love and affection, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Exchange gifts, and you will love one another." A gift removes grudges from the heart and eliminates malice and hatred. If a legal marriage contract is concluded between a man and a woman, then exchanging gifts between them is even more strongly recommended to foster love and good companionship, in compliance with Allah’s saying: "And live with them in kindness." Scholars such as Al-Ghazali, Al-Baji, and Ibn Uthaymeen have emphasized the recommendation of giving gifts and their positive impact.
