What is the ruling on hacking games to obtain virtual currencies without payment, and what are the consequences for someone who did that out of ignorance of the Sharia ruling?

If the game is free from religious prohibitions, then there is no harm in playing it, nor in purchasing virtual currencies within it with real money. However, it is not permissible to hack the game to obtain virtual currencies without paying for them, because this involves consuming people's wealth unjustly and infringing upon the right of invention and innovation, which is a right protected by Islamic law. Whoever does so must repent and seek release from the game owners by paying what was not paid in money.
