Who are those who will encounter Laylat al-Qadr, and is a certain ceiling of good deeds required to encounter it, and is the multiplication of reward for acts of worship therein for everyone, or only for those who are forgiven?

The Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr) in Ramadan (definition), during which the Qur'an was revealed, passes over every living person in Ramadan. The fortunate one is he who spends it in prayer out of faith and hope for reward, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever stands (in prayer) during Laylat al-Qadr with faith and hope for reward will have his past sins forgiven." Not every person who stands in prayer will be forgiven, but rather he who stands out of faith and hope for Allah's pleasure. There is no specific limit to worship during it, so one should increase in prayer, remembrance (dhikr), reading the Qur'an, and supplication (du'a), especially the supplication: "O Allah, You are the Forgiver, You love forgiveness, so forgive me." A person achieves the essence of standing in prayer during it by performing the 'Isha and Fajr prayers in congregation.
