What is the authenticity of the hadiths narrated concerning the virtues of eating watermelon, such as: "You must eat watermelon, for it has ten qualities...", and "Eat watermelon for pleasure, for it is a fruit of Paradise...", and "No pregnant woman eats watermelon except that her child will be beautiful in face and character," and "Watermelon before food washes the stomach thoroughly...", and "Bite the watermelon and do not cut it into pieces, for it is a blessed fruit..."?

The authentic hadith regarding watermelon from the Prophet, peace be upon him, is what was narrated by Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Prophet, peace be upon him, used to eat watermelon with fresh dates. Imam Ahmad, Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyya, and al-Sakhawi stated that other narrations mentioning the virtues of watermelon are not authentic; rather, they are weak, false, or fabricated. It is obligatory to repent from spreading them and to alert people to their lack of authenticity.
