Is blood money obligatory for one who aborted her deceased fetus due to being beaten during pregnancy?
Sincere repentance from adultery must be completed by avoiding the causes that lead to it, such as bad company and idleness, and by embracing acts of obedience, associating with righteous people, and seeking marriage.
As for the ruling concerning a stillborn fetus: If its death was due to the beating, and this was evident by its immediate expulsion after the beating or by the persistence of pain until its expulsion, then you are liable for expiation (fasting for two consecutive months) and the blood-money for the fetus (a ghurrah, valued at five camels) to be paid to its heirs, excluding the killer. If its death was not due to the beating, or if there is doubt about the cause, then nothing is required of you.
